America's eminently mockable Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, went on national TV on Tuesday to mock Americans who find that electric cars don't suit their transportation needs. "Sometimes, when these debates happen," the failed former mayor of South Bend, Ind. told Fox News, "I feel like it's the early 2000s and I'm talking to some people who think that we can just have landline phones forever." Spoiler: Nobody was saying that in the early 2000s. Even before the iPhone came out in 2007 and changed phones forever, Americans were snapping up Nokias and Blackberries and wondering if we still needed our landlines at all. As early as 2005, 69%

Everything about him is a punch line to a bad joke. Its bad enough that the department secretaries are all incompetent boobs who are appointed as a political payoff or pandering to a sub group. Thats always been true. I still have my landline and dont want your electronic leash. I'm not important enough to need instant communications around the clock. Few people are. I also dont like a gps tracker on me and an open mike on me at all times. Sometimes I like to hide and sometimes I like my conversations private.

My husband and I do not have smartphones. Don't want one. I have never taken a selfie or looked at my phone while having dinner out or needed to text someone during a meeting. Don't need one. My flip phone is for a quick text to my husband or son and for emergencies. I hate talking on the phone so I only call when it is necessary, like for a doctor's appointment. I realize that billions of people love their phone and would commit suicide if it wasn't functioning. Me, not so much. But it is an option, a choice, high end or merely functional for my needs. My choice not the government's. It works for us just like our gas powered car does. An EV is not a better choice. We all can list 50 reasons why that is so. Maybe someday but not now. It is not up to the government to push this crap on us and frankly, Pete, shove it. America this is DEI in action. This administration is full of them. FJB PS Pete. Cell phones do not work everywhere. Leave people alone.

I worked in telecommunications for 35 years. Landlines were one of the industry's greatest achievements. 99.99% reliable. If the power went out, they still worked. If your phone was made by Western Electric, a car could run over it and it would still work. EVs are not in the same league wrt quality.

Joe Biden officially abandoned Israel on Thursday during a phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu, conditioning further American support on stopping civilian casualties while demanding an immediate ceasefire. If Israel were to oblige, it would represent a full-scale capitulation to Hamas, which would be able to regroup and retain its power while not even having to release the hostages. If that all sounds familiar, it just so happens to be what Jill Biden recently demanded of her husband behind the scenes. Yes, the president's wife is apparently running the country. Conventional wisdom tells us that religious faith is on a downward slope, particularly when it comes to Christianity. Of course, there aren’t many ways to separate nominal Christians from genuine believers when compiling statistics, but many measurements show that Christianity is on the decline in the West. The state of Christianity in Europe can be discouraging. The continent that was once the heart and soul of Christendom is increasingly godless. But is there encouragement on the horizon? One podcaster and writer thinks so. Justin Brierley, the author of “The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God” and host of the “Unbelievable” podcast, writes in The Spectator

PJ Media, like all independent conservative/populist media outlets, is constantly demonetized by Google. (Emphasis on “independent; we’re not competing on an even playing field with certain unnamed “conservative” outlets that are boosted in the algorithms via sweetheart Silicon Valley deals and then pretend they are besieged by “cancel culture,” nor are we talking about legacy media behemoths like Fox News that are not throttled in the same manner.) A little definitional housekeeping: by “demonetized,” we mean that any article smeared by the fickle Google gods with this black mark of shame is no longer eligible to host Google ads, which means it cannot generate any ad revenue for the company.

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) In the twenty-plus years that I've been writing about liberal bias in the mainstream media, I've never seen the hacks work as hard as they have for Joe Biden. Most of their past effort was spent on the character assassination of Republicans. All they had to when His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama was in office was scream "RACISM!" in response to any criticism of him. With President LOLEightyonemillion, they've had to create a man and a politician who never existed, then keep that fiction alive. They're still in the character assassination business too.

Social media was briefly abuzz last month about Presidentish Joe Biden's boat-anchor shoes, the ones meant to help keep him from falling. Before we get to that, a little more on the shoes because I honestly can't get enough of that story. By now, we’re all aware that the White House managed to commit the most sacrilegious act imaginable — or at least made the biggest possible slap in the faces of Christians — by emphasizing “Transgender Day of Visibility” over Easter. While the holiday honoring our secular state religion of transgenderism is fixed on March 31, it could have and rightly should have taken a backseat to the moveable feast that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. Instead, Joe Biden, his handlers, and the rest of his administration chose to double down on honoring a tiny minority of transgender Americans over the millions of Christians who celebrate Easter Sunday. Multiple cases of the infection in a variety of mammals, including cows, cats and, more recently, humans, are all raising the risk of the virus mutating to become more transmissible, they said.

It’s just people started to worry about a “population explosion.” Thanks to antibiotics, vaccines, mosquito eradication and better farming, people weren’t dying off as they had been. But they were still having babies. This led to more people. And quite a few folks — themselves already born — thought that was bad. The most famous is Stanford’s Paul Ehrlich, an entomologist whose bestselling book about people, “The Population Bomb,” promised the Earth a grim Malthusian fate, only a decade or so away. Israel has not commented on the strike but is widely believed to be responsible having carried out numerous strikes similar to this one in the region. But Iran has warned that the US must also be held accountable despite the fact Washington has said it played no role in the attack.
