A physically healthy, 28-year-old Dutch woman has decided to legally end her life due to her struggles with crippling depression, autism and borderline personality disorder, according to a report.
Zoraya ter Beek, who lives in a small village in the Netherlands near the German border, is scheduled to be euthanized in May — despite being in love with her 40-year-old boyfriend and living with two cats.
Ter Beek, who once aspired to be a psychiatrist, has been dealing with mental health struggles throughout her life.

Too much Tik-Tok? Sad, but I cannot come up with enough sympathy for all the broken, crazy people in this world.

Sounds like she is not capable of making a rational decision due to her mental condition.

She would be better off by a long shot by finding a legitimate boyfriend!

Having a major depressive disorder is a living hell , you don't " snap out of it ' or think your way out , you are confined in your own depressive world. Maybe some meds can help maybe not.

Very sobering to think of walking into that office having a cup of coffee and lying down for the final rest. All voluntarily. Except for nutty ideas implanted by an unhinged society.

Maybe she got all of her news from the doom and gloom propaganda of the Left? A steady diet of that can bring nearly anybody to the edge of complete despair.

Jesus said, "the thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they may have life and that they might have it more abundantly."
Those doctors that said this young lady's depression will never get any better do not know God.
Nothing is impossible with Him. Nearly 2000 years ago He raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Jesus is still alive and you can talk to Him. God can do anything He chooses to do.
If you sincerely want to know, ask God about Jesus and see what happens.
See what the Bible says.
I pray that God will speak to this young lady in some way she can understand and that she will call on Jesus.

That is called suicide. Having an audience does not change what it is.

The article tells us nothing about what kinds of treatment may have been offered or tried in the past. Nothing about when her depression was diagnosed, nor what may have triggered it. What happened to her family? No "support system" is mentioned, aside from her boyfriend who appears to be participating in her plan to kill herself. I have to wonder about a physician telling her she won't get any better. I wonder how many people had to agree with that assessment, that she would never get better, in order for the suicide to be approved?

Why should she have to stay here if she doesn’t want to anymore?

That law in the Netherlands surely knocks down the suicide rate, and does away with the trouble of having to clean up a lot of after the fact messes.

If she wants to die that is her decision, but she should have to do the dirty deed on her own.

Much as I sympathize with this woman, I couldn’t do it. I’m too Catholic and afraid of terrible, spiritual repercussions.

She's probably not autistic at all. It's become a fad and way over-diagnosed. I have a relative that actually is autistic. He has the mental capacity of a 2 year old and he is in his sixties. He is not capable of understanding euthanasia or life or death.

There's a lot more going on here than depression, however severe it may be. Autism can present with symptoms that are mild to severe on the autism spectrum. But borderline personality disorder? I have known two women who were diagnosed with BPD; both were not only a danger to themselves, but wreaked havoc on nearly every family member or co-worker in their orbit. BPD can arise from multiple childhood causes, and requires several years of therapy to reconcile. To my knowledge, BPD is not treatable with medications. Run--don't walk--away from people with BPD: they can cause major, enormous disruption and pain in your personal life.

Physically healthy? When did that large organ known as the brain not be part of one's physical body?
