Following a massive data breach exposing the records of over 73 million current and former customers, AT&T has reset the account passcodes for millions of affected users. TechCrunch reports that telecommunications giant AT&T has initiated a mass passcode reset for millions of customer accounts after being alerted by TechCrunch that a huge cache of leaked data, containing encrypted passcodes and other sensitive information, had been dumped online earlier this month. The leaked data, which is believed to be from 2019 or earlier, impacts approximately 7.6 million current AT&T account holders and an additional 65.4 million former account holders, according to a statement provided by the company on Saturday.

I got the notification earlier today and I was able to log into my AT&T account with no problem. It turns out that the passcode is different from the account password. I went ahead and changed my password, but I really don’t understand what the passcode is used for. It seems like it’s something that allows you to talk to their customer service people and identify yourself using the pass code.

#2 thanks for the additional info. I go the same result signing in but didn't see the explanation of exactly what the "passcode" meant. Thanks again.

Got rid of AT&T decades ago when they tried to charge me 33 cents a minute for long distance. Once or more a year, they would raise the rate. It would have been cheaper to have a public pay phone (remember those?) in my house. One of my least favorite corporations.

"..whether the data originated from AT&T itself or one of its vendors." Call for support from ANY company lately? What accent do you detect? It ain't Brooklyn-ese or southern drawl. Likely the same people who call you all day long for medicare coverage, solar panels, or to offer you a better credit card.

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, argued that the tax charges filed against his client in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California should be dismissed. Biden's legal team presented a total of eight different motions to dismiss. RedState's Managing Editor, Jennifer Van Laar, provided a rundown of that hearing. A total of eight motions to dismiss were filed by the defense to be considered by US District Judge Mark Scarsi. They argue that the nine-count indictment should be dismissed because: July 2023 Diversion Agreement is in effect, therefore giving Hunter Biden immunity Special Counsel David Weiss was unlawfully appointed, and the prosecution violates

Former president Donald Trump posted a $175 million bond for his New York State civil fraud case Monday evening through an insurance company. Trump posted the bond backed by the California-based Knight Speciality Insurance Company, kick-starting the appeals process against the $355 million civil fraud judgment imposed by New York judge Arthur Engoron last month. Trump is on the hook for more than $450 million because he is mandated to pay interest on top of Engoron’s judgment. Last week, an appellate court granted Trump a ten-day extension to pay the reduced $175 million bond after it appeared

Donald Trump's "extreme and deliberate provocations" in his hush money trial are aimed to undermine the case, the Manhattan district attorney said Monday as he urged a judge to strengthen a gag order on the former president. Trump's "dangerous, violent, and reprehensible rhetoric fundamentally threatens the integrity of these proceedings and is intended to intimidate witnesses and trial participants alike — including this Court," DA Alvin Bragg said in a blistering filing in New York Supreme Court. Bragg’s request came after Trump, in numerous social media posts, targeted Judge Juan Merchan’s adult daughter over her work for a Democratic political firm.
Florida Supreme Court allows 6-week abortion

In a pair of significant decisions, the Florida Supreme Court ruled Monday to uphold a 15-week ban on abortion in the state, while also allowing a proposed amendment that would enshrine abortion protections in the state constitution to appear on the November ballot. The conservative-leaning court's decision on the 15-week ban also means that a six-week abortion ban, with exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law last year will take effect. But the bench's ruling to allow the constitutional amendment to appear on the ballot this fall means voters will have a chance in just seven months to undo those restrictions.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Monday afternoon, Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre responded to backlash over President Joe Biden's decision to issue a proclamation for "Transgender Visibility Day" on Easter Sunday. Arguing March 31 is always transgender visibility day and that the date for Easter changes every year, Jean Pierre claimed lawmakers and reporters were spreading misinformation about the situation. She also touted Biden's celebration of Easter as a Christian. President Biden has discretion to issue or not issue recurring proclamations, especially when the context or timing is inappropriate -- a fact his press secretary failed to mention.

New York CNN — Shares of Truth Social owner Trump Media & Technology Group plunged Monday after the company disclosed that it lost more than $58 million and generated very little revenue in 2023. The figures underscore why some experts warn Trump Media’s multibillion-dollar valuation defies logic and is reminiscent of the meme stock craze. In a regulatory filing on Monday, Trump Media said it lost $58.2 million in 2023, compared with a profit of $50.5 million in 2022. The Truth Social owner generated just $4.1 million in revenue, although that was up from $1.5 million in 2022.

WASHINGTON — The video shared by former President Donald Trump features horror movie music and footage of migrants purportedly entering the U.S. from countries including Cameroon, Afghanistan and China. Shots of men with tattoos and videos of violent crime are set against close-ups of people waving and wrapping themselves in American flags. “They’re coming by the thousands,” Trump says in the video, posted on his social media site. “We will secure our borders. And we will restore sovereignty.” In his speeches and online posts, Trump has ramped up anti-immigrant rhetoric as he seeks the White House a third time, casting migrants as dangerous criminals “poisoning the blood” of America.

The Key Bridge was built at a cost (adjusted for inflation) of about $200 million. There are few more joyous places for a Christian at Easter than northern Europe's tallest and largest Gothic cathedral in the city of Cologne.[SNIP] Perhaps we should not be surprised. In Britain, Windsor Castle hosted its first Iftar last week, with permission from King Charles, the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Guests feasted on coconut milk and dates in the grounds before a private tour of the State apartments. Westminster Abbey, meanwhile – a Christian site for over 1,000 years – flew the national flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with the Muslim crescent and star, to mark 'Pakistan Day'.

That includes immigrants like Ingrid Vilorio, who said she started working at a McDonald’s shortly
